3 Rare Coins Worth $54 Million

The 1909-S VDB Lincoln cent is one of the most sought-after pennies by collectors.

Struck in San Francisco, it features the initials of the designer, Victor David Brenner, on the reverse.

Only 484,000 were minted, making it exceptionally rare. In excellent condition, this penny can fetch upwards of $1,000.

The 1914-D Lincoln cent is another rarity, with a mintage of only 1,193,000.

During World War II, pennies were made from zinc-coated steel to conserve copper for the war effort.
